Telehealth Options

Telehealth uses a phone or video for a health appointment. You can use telehealth to attend an appointment without travelling to a hospital or a clinic. Telehealth can be used in lots of ways. You can call from your own phone, tablet or computer, or get set up at a local doctor or health clinic to do the call.

You can talk to a doctor, nurse, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health worker, or a team of people by phone or video. You can do most of the things on a telehealth appointment that you would do if you attended in person.

Telehealth is great for mob who can’t get to a big town or cities for appointments. It is a way to see specialist doctors, rather than having to travel to see them. Sometimes the situation may not be suitable for telehealth, or telehealth may not be available everywhere.

Yarn with your doctor, nurse or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health worker and ask: ”Can I use telehealth for any of my appointments?”
